Regulatory

Our passion at IPI is to enable our customers to protect their workforce and the environment by providing clean, easy to use and cost effective closed loop systems to handle their dangerous chemicals safely.

Not only do closed loop systems make environmental and commercial sense, for chemicals containing carcinogens, mutagens and reprotoxins their use is also mandated as per latest EU Directives.

In fact, in Article 5 (2) of the CMD it is specifically mentioned that “where possible, a carcinogenic substance should be substituted with a less-hazardous alternative – otherwise carcinogens must, so far as is technically possible, be manufactured and used in a closed system to prevent exposure of workers”. (Directive 2004/37/EC – April 2004).

The following links will enable you to evaluate if the chemical(s) you handle fall into this category.

Also, since 2016 the EU commission, in cooperation with ECHA and other agencies, reviews every year the exposure and use of these hazardous chemicals that could be classified as Candidate List of substances of very high concern for Authorisation.

The following links will enable you to evaluate if the chemical(s) you handle fall into Candidate List of substances of very high concern for Authorisation.
